Joining via Zoom is Jared from Oklahoma City, who has been a Police Officer for 8 years and married with two kids. Also, Jared is a United States Marine Corps Veteran, who was injured while preparing for a deployment. He was medically discharged after two years of service.
Throughout the podcast, Jared discusses the stigma and pride amongst our law enforcement community, mental health affects on our families, and the importance of resiliency/resources/healthy coping mechanisms.
After being involved in an Officer Involved Shooting, Jared was actually charged with Manslaughter, after responding to an armed robbery that just occurred in his area. Jared breaks down the call for service in addition to discussing the importance of having a positive support system and preparing for the aftermath of difficult calls such as Officer Involved Shootings.
