I'm very excited to bring you another wonderful interview from the world of Bowen Technique. Today I am speaking with Russell Sturges, the founder and developer of Fascial Kinetics, perhaps the original offshoot from the initial form of Bowen Technique taught by Bowtech. Russel explores his early start in the world of bodywork from doing osteopathic massage as a teenager, through to the training and development that lead him to found Fascial Kinetics. We then explore more about his mindfulness, personal and spiritual development programs and why he feels these are so essential to being an effective practitioner. We also discuss some of his books and his work with the Tarot and it's value in personal development. This is a really fascinating interview with a deeply aware teacher, well worth your time and attention. Welcome to the next in my series of interviews with leading voices in the world of Bowen Technique and manual therapy. Today we have a topic I know many people on the Bowen forums ask about regularly, is it safe to do Bowen Technique with clients who have a cancer diagnosis? Eleanor guides us gently through this while highlighting the need for training and understanding, empathy and compassion. She shares with us her background in medical tech, all the years she spent diagnosing conditions in the lab and how that lead on to her becoming the founder of Oncology Massage Global. This is a really beautiful interview with an amazing light in the world of health and healing. We hope you enjoy it and look forward to your comments and feedback below. I have a wonderful interview for you today with Helen Dobra, the co-founder and co-ordinator of the Natural Therapy Institute, organiser of the Bowen Global Summit and producer of the Bowen documentary "These Two Hands" which takes a beautiful exploration through the Life of Tom Bowen. Helen talks about how she found Bowen as a way of dealing with injuries acquired through her Himalayan adventures and how it was important in her road to recovery and how this led to exploring trauma release through the TRTP system and the trauma work of Anne Schubert, and becoming a Qigong teacher and mindfulness mentor, working with many teenagers to help with their ADHD and PTSD. This year Bowen Global Summit will take place on the 22nd-23rd March 2025 and all registrants will gain an incredible wealth of material, resources, marketing tools etc for their own business and personal development. Helen will also be talking, along with the other 20+ top names in their industry (including me, talking about Integral Approaches to Health), on Surviving to Thriving. Hello again everyone, I am really pleased to bring my next interview with leading voices in the Bowen and bodywork world. Today we are talking to Alastair McLoughlin, ex-Bowen Teacher and developer of McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release and The Art of Bodywork training. Alastair has a long career, starting in massage in 1983, and after building a highly successful practice, went on to qualify in Bowen Technique in 1994. He was invited to teach for the Bowen Academy of Australia in 1997. He went on to develop his own range of techniques, with his particular interest in the effect of scars on body function and the developments he worked through in the clinic which became his Art of Bodywork classes. His practical and no-nonsense approach to bodywork has made him a leading voice in our industry and this is a great interview to get to know his work. A Holistic Path to Wellness with Bowen Therapy, Kinesiology, and Qigong – Ben Calder on the Healers Café In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, FCAH, RBHT, speaks with Ben Calder about his transformative journey into integrative healing, exploring how personal challenges led him to embrace modalities like kinesiology, Bowen therapy, and Qigong to empower others in their health journeys. Highlights from today’s episode include: Ben Calder They would have a logic, okay, if we’ve got a mind component, do we need to do anything with the mind? If we’ve got a body and behavior component, do we need to do something with that? And that might have included diet and nutrition. Ben Calder You know, I see quite a number of people in their 60s and 70s. And almost the number one thing that they will tell me is that the doctor has told them that they can expect it because of their age. And at that point, I want to slap that doctor and just say, No, that’s not true. Ben Calder You know, give yourself a decade to master a level of Qigong, and it’s not a quick fix, and you may not even feel it in the first 2,3,4 sessions. You know, the Chinese would traditionally say 100 days of practice to start feeling your chi and then the rest of your life to master it. ABOUT MANON BOLLIGER, FCAH, RBHT As a recently De-Registered board-certified naturopathic physician & in practice since 1992, she has seen an average of 150 patients per week and have helped people ranging from rural farmers in Nova Scotia to stressed out CEOs in Toronto to tri-athletes here in Vancouver. Her resolve to educate, empower and engage people to take charge of their own health is evident in her best-selling books: ‘What Patients Don’t Say if Doctors Don’t Ask: The Mindful Patient-Doctor Relationship’ and ‘A Healer in Every Household: Simple Solutions for Stress’. She also teaches BowenFirst™ Therapy through Bowen College and hold transformational workshops to achieve these goals. Welcome to the next of my interviews looking at leading voices in the world of Bowen Technique. I am really excited to share this next instalment, where we interview Ross Emmett, who many of you will know as the founder of EMMETT Technique, a worldwide technique for helping with pain and movement issues. Ross has also been involved in the development of Bowen Technique and taught for 8 years from 1988 and shared the evolving forms of his technique, which began before he knew any body therapy, with many of the early pioneers of Bowen, some of whom considered Ross's work "The missing link" in Bowen. Ross talks about his work with animals and how that was the initial place his work began and how that still forms an important part of his work today. We also talk about how your clothes and objects you wear (such as watches) can significantly unbalance the body. This was a really interesting interview to conduct and I am really grateful to Ross for being so open about his history. There is certainly much to learn from his work and we hope you will enjoy this as much as I did. In this episode, I am really grateful to have Lindsay Holder, lead UK tutor for Smart Bowen. Lindsay takes us through her history from studying Equine Sciences at University, her introduction to Bowen, which came just from wanting to use it with horses, to why she rates Smart Bowen. We also explore her work in the canine and equine world with Bowen and why she feels that is such a special area to work, right through to her dissection work on horses, working with leading horse anatomist Sharon May-Davis. Welcome along to the next in the series of interviews with leading figures in the Bowen world right now. I'm excited to share this episode, where I talk to Joanne Hewitt of Bowen College UK who has the vision of seeing a Bowen Practitioner in every GP surgery. She was inspired while working as a practice manager in a GP surgery by Paula Esson and decided to make a career shift and train in Bowen (whilst pregnant) and went on to do a lot of work with children and pregnant women. Joanne talks to us about the value of the new introduction weekends that are now available through the Bowen College to begin as a stepping stone to full training, but also to help families to be able to better support one another, reducing the NHS burden. She's very keen to promote the idea of maintenance rather than breakdown and also incorporates Homeobotanicals in her work. I hope you enjoy the episode. Hello once again from me as I bring you the next of the interviews with the BTPA. In this episode I'm very excited to be interviewing Jihan Adem of the Bowen College UK. We talk about her history and how she got into Bowen before getting into why she is so passionate about teaching this work and what her deep interests are; TMJ, Breathing and their relationship to sleep. We also talk to her about her upcoming CPD workshop for the BTPA AGM on 5th October 2024 - open to members and non-members, where she is sharing some of the wonderful Empowering Movement training she has developed with Rebecca Ellis to help physical therapists explore exercises and movement practices that can be safely used with their clients to help further their rehabilitation (we are REALLY looking forward to experiencing this) We also talk about how Jihan was part of an international team, along with fascia legend Robert Schleip, to develop the first ever fascia network plastination for the Body Works exhibition in Berlin. Here we are with the next in our series of interviews with leading teachers in the field of Bowen Technique. Today I am really excited to have the (infamous) Gus de la Querra of the Body Rewired. Any of you who have been following Gus's social media will know he's the King of Vagus (no Elvis puns intended - honestly). Gus and I talked through his history and how he found Bowen Technique before exploring the development of the Simply Vagus and Lymphatic work he teaches, plus we look at his new program "Reset 101" which includes the vital third component of his work - the immune system. The book "Incognito" that Gus mentioned is here https://amzn.eu/d/9JFkM3X You can learn more about Gus and his work via https://www.thebodyrewired.com/ https://www.facebook.com/thebodyrewired https://www.instagram.com/thebodyrewired If you would like to learn more about the work of the BTPA, your local practitioner, where to train in the UK and much more, than check out our website at https://www.bowentherapy.org.uk/ Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/integral-health-with-ben-calder--3335603/support .…

In the next of the series of interviews with prominent teachers and thinkers in the world of the Bowen Technique, I am really excited to share our latest interview with Canadian Bowen teacher and Homeopath Jonathan Damonte. Jonathan has been involved in the founding of Bowen Canada and the Bowen Therapy Clinics, the North American Bowen Teaching College and Bowen Online. He is a registered homeopath and has created the training portal Homeopathy Simplified for people to understand how they can use homeopathy in an easy way. In this episode, we talk about how Jonathan came to the world of Bowen and how his interest in homeopathy has informed his approach to working with Bowen Technique and how he combines the two disciplines to create better outcomes for his clients. For anyone who has wondered about how Bowen and Homeopathy integrate and how we can get past that basic idea we are often given in Bowen training that the two are compatible, without being given a framework to integrate the two, then dive in. You can learn more about Jonathan and his work here https://bewellnow.com/now-on-salt-spring-island/ https://bowen-online.com/ https://www.homeopathysimplified.com/ If you would like to learn more about the work of the BTPA, your local practitioner, where to train in the UK and much more, than check out our website at https://www.bowentherapy.org.uk/ Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/integral-health-with-ben-calder--3335603/support .…
