In today’s episode we are talking about our own personal journeys with medication. Discussing medication openly seems like a taboo subject and there is still some stigma surrounding the open use of medication for anxiety. This includes feelings of personal embarrassment and feeling afraid to disclose this with doctors, friends or family. During our conversation, we share the ups and downs we faced through our own personal medication journey. We talk about our own personal fears around anti-anxiety medication, concerns about not feeling like ourselves, and how we felt once we took medication. In this episode we cover:
  • Stigma around medication and mental health [1:22]
  • The fear of possibly not being yourself on medication and waiting until things get worse [6:19]
  • Tools and coping skills that we found helpful [11:15]
  • Our experience finally taking medication [17:25]
  • Weight gain and medication [25:57]
