BIOS
Crescent Muhammad is a Managing Director with the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP), a non-profit specializing in diversity, equity and inclusion programming and leadership development training for diverse professionals. Prior to CUP, Crescent was SVP of Development at Marquee Media, where she managed programming material for a new multi-cultural streaming service and led communication efforts for a national launch. She worked at Forward Pass directly under its founder, Oscar®-nominated writer and director, Michael Mann managing daily operations, writer agreements, project development and research, and special events. As a Project Manager for Muse Communications, she executed a joint Black History Month ad campaign with JCPenney and ESSENCE Magazine featuring Black filmmakers. She remains a passionate creative with experience as a blogger, on-air personality, producer and actor. Her work has appeared on TVOne and Lifetime Networks, amongst others. She hosted the digital series unREAL: CrescentSpeak Recap where she unpacked weekly episodes of Lifetime's hit drama UnREAL. During the pandemic she resurrected her co-hosted weekly politics and pop culture talk show, The Madness Collective, which has helped immensely in maintaining her sanity.
George Fatheree is a partner at Sidley Austin specializing in an array of complex real estate deals, high-profile art transactions as well as advising museums, artists, educational institutions and other non-for-profit organizations in the arts and culture spaces. He was named a 2020 “California Lawyer Attorney of the Year” by the Daily Journal, in recognition of his representation of the J. Paul Getty Trust in acquiring the photography archives of Ebony and Jet magazines. He is currently leading the legal effort for the historic return of the Bruce’s Beach property in Southern California, which was wrongfully taken from the Bruce family in the 1920s. He has also secured reparations for Holocaust survivors; represented the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in its development of a state-of-the-art performing arts academy; advised school districts on education reform issues; and helps special needs students gain access to educational services. He and his wife Azita are collectors of art and vibrant humans who they host regularly.
