Are we the only ones who love having money, but absolutely HATE talking about it with our partners? Like, sweaty palms, fight or flight, fears of domestic-World-War-3 hate it?

We didn't think so! That's why we're getting honest about how money conversations in our marriages are about SO MUCH MORE than dollars and cents. Join us as we discuss:

  • A few reasons we're all so freaking weird about talking about money.
  • Why money conversations can be stressful and challenging in relationships.
  • Why it's totally common to avoid conversations about money.
  • How money disagreements can lead a couple to divorce.
  • How childhood experiences and societal messages shape our relationship with (and thus our behaviors around) money.
  • Why understanding our own money history is critically important for better money conversations.
  • How having open and curious conversations with our partners can lead to real connection - even when the money conversation is over.

And a nudge for you, dear listener, to continue the dialogue and seek real connection through honest conversations about money in your own home... cause you deserve to feel less stressed and more connected in your marriage! Even something as simple and open-ended as "What money lessons did you learn growing up?" could start a conversation that gives insight and leads to connection.

Plus, Jess and Andrea reveal how money is currently being handled in their own houses (spoiler alert: one of us is actively involved and one of us currently has the money involvement of a 1950's housewife... can you guess who is who?); Jess shares some wisdom from the 90's about money (Mo Money Mo Problems); and Andrea reveals that not even earning a CPA can release you from the deeper meaning that money takes in your life, if you haven't done the work of reflection and conversation.
