Yoga practice with Caitlin Rose Kenney: A thorough and juicy Vin-Yin practice that releases your hips, low back and upper body tension. Beginning on your back, the class progresses into standing poses that both release and strengthen your lower body. You will attend to all angles of your hips, spinal twists, hamstring stretches and core work. Tension release in your shoulders and neck is found through a challenging and fun variation "Funky Dolphin" followed by a sweet release in Sleeping Pigeon with a shoulder variation. Final integration is achieved in Bridge Pose and Savasana. Suggested props: 2 blocks Moves & poses to know: Half Happy Baby, Supine Twist, Reclined Pigeon (Figure Four Pose), Shoulder Flossing, Wide "Lizard" Lunge, Malasana (Garland Pose), Pasasana (Noose Pose) with prayer hands, Reclined Mandukasana (Reclined Frog) crunches, Parsvakonasana (Extended Side Angle) with Half Bind, Prasarita Padottanasana (Wide Leg Forward Fold), Funky Dolphin, Sleeping Pigeon with shoulder release, Ardha Matsyendrasana (Seated Twist), Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose) and Savasana.
