S9 EP10: Squat Safety 101: Bailing With Purpose

Are you someone who lifts alone more often than not? If you said yes, this episode is for you. If you said no- this episode is still for you. Everyone who lifts with a barbell should know how to safely exit the lift when it goes wrong.
This weeks podcast was prompted by a well known fitness influencer, Justyn Vicky, who tragically died when he bailed a back squat incorrectly. Justyn was an experienced lifter and was being spotted by a professional, but unfortunately the weight was very heavy and his spotter was not in a great position to help when the bail occurred.
It’s important to note- this isn’t the first time this has happened, but that doesn’t mean it’s common either. Do not let this scare you from lifting, but instead arm yourself with the knowledge of HOW to bail. Listen into this weeks episode where Kelsea and Rachael discuss the basics of bailing all lifts, and how to to begin practicing so that when the time comes you and your body are ready.
