S2E1: Treating Skin of Color (ft. Dr. Michelle Henry)
Manage episode 301510061 series 2849699
To kick off Season 2 of The Pro-Aging Podcast, I am talking to board-certified dermatologist, Harvard-trained Mohs surgeon, Dr. Michelle Henry. Dr. Henry specializes in treatments for skin of color, treating high-risk skin cancers, and performing aesthetic procedures.
All skin types are very different in how they age and must be treated differently when it comes to rejuvenation treatments in the dermatologic world.
On this episode, we discuss how we treat the full spectrum of skin types and skin colors, the skin’s anatomy, our approach, and the hot technologies we use when treating different skin tones. We even get to hear how Dr. Michelle Henry treats her own skin and her pro-aging secret that makes her skin, body, and mind glow!
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Henry is renowned for her research and teaching skills. She’s published a variety of articles and chapters on cosmetic surgery and skin cancer treatment and was a finalist for the American College of Mohs Surgery’s Tromovitch Award. She is currently a clinical instructor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City and has extensive experience teaching aesthetic procedures like laser surgery, hair restoration, and injecting neuromodulators and fillers.
