Adverse Childhood Experiences
Manage episode 421601161 series 3576700
In this episode of the podcast we explore Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's). This episode provides a broad introduction to the topic. We start with a definition of what ACE's are. This draws heavily on the work of Felitti and colleagues (1998) who devised the Adverse Childhood Experience's questionnaire. We go on to explore global prevalence rates of ACE's and the impact that having a higher amount of ACE's has on mental. physical and social wellbeing. Potential explanations for this are explored as well as applications to the clinical context. We hope you enjoy!
