Episode Summary

Let’s keep it real. Life can be tough. There are times when hard situations arise where the last thing you think of is victory. When the prospect of tomorrow looks bleaker than the back side of the moon. I’m here recognizing the fact, that though sometimes as hard as we may try to strategize a plan for the success of our tomorrow, the battle being fought in our minds for our lives is being waged in the present moment. That cry calling for immediate help, motivation, just to take the next step is seen, heard and acknowledged.

In this episode of Victory in Mind, I share how during a challenging time in my life, focusing on primarily seemingly insignificant and unremarkable positive aspects of my life, helped me go through the tough situation I was facing. It didn’t immediately change the situation, but by focusing on things I could be grateful for, I managed to get the strength to live into the next moment and the next until an attainable solution was realized.

It is my desire that you will find encouragement for whatever situation you are battling through. That you would find the victory.

Time Code Guide

[00:00:43] Welcome greeting to today's episode of Victory in Mind podcast by host Waceke Wambaa. Gratitude sounds so innocuous. It sounds like, okay, been there, done that already. But it is foundational in terms of being one of the key ingredients to getting victory.

[00:01:35] Central real life story introduced to include impact of Tropical Storm Allison.

[00:03:34] The storm causes a crisis. Thankfully there are people helping for a limited time period.

[00:04:36]Viable solutions were almost non-existent. The situation was bleak.

[00:05:11] Purposed to focus on the one thing I had control over in that one moment in time - my mind. My attitude. My emotions were another matter altogether.

[00:08:20] A glimmer of hope after a challenging time of despair.

[00:10:20] Thoughts on aspects of what looked initially like a hopeless situation with a hopeless strategy employed, actually become fuel for attaining Victory in my Mind for that entire time period in my life.

[00:11:58] Encouragement. Purpose of this podcast, Victory in Mind. Thank you so much for listening. I'm your host, Waceke Wambaa thanking you for joining me on our podcast today.
