The Brotherhood of conservative radio talk show hosts has been waning in recent years. The death of Rush Limbaugh, and the continuing erosion of decency has hurt the medium. We remember a time in the late 1970's and early eighties, when it was more, liberal. Until a June night in 1984, when Alan Berg, was ambushed outside of his townhome on Adams and Colfax. It turned out that these "Neo-Nazi's" had heard a rant by Berg from their compound in Idaho and targeted him. Berg famously called the medium in which he plied his trade - "the last neighborhood." This monologue reflects on being yourself and using your own voice. Not becoming an imitation of what you were meant to be. Forty years later- AM Radio is far from the "last neighborhood."
