Today we’re talking about ageing, and specifically about how fascia is central to ageing well.

If you don’t know what fascia is don’t worry, Gary explains it clearly. And if you do already, you will be diving more deeply into how fascia relates to ageing.

My guest is Gary Carter, who is recognised internationally as one of the UK’s leading Anatomy and Movement teachers. He does a lot of stuff, he’s a polymath, so here goes. He is a myofascial manual therapist, personal trainer, shiatsu and craniosacral practitioner, anatomy and fascial anatomy lecturer and also a yoga teacher and teacher trainer. He lectures and teaches in Movement and Fascial Anatomy for schools of massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy, Yoga & Pilates teacher trainings. He started the Natural Bodies Yoga and movement Centre in Brighton, UK, in 1991, training and encouraging ease of movement, efficient body use in exercise, sport and many movement disciplines.
He also runs dissective studies for students of his anatomy and movement courses at the Plastinarium in Germany. He has been one of the lead dissectors and designers for the world’s first historic plastinated fascial-focused human displayed in BodyWorlds Berlin
You’ll be introduced to:

  • The magic world of fascia
  • How we age earlier than you think
  • And it’s never too late to start being younger
  • Reframing age With Inspirational elders
  • exercise might not take as long as you think
  • Ageing as a process of refinement, not decay
  • Mindset and avoiding the rigidity that can come with age
  • Getting back to movement after illness, injury or surgery
