Dr. Gilmartin is the author of "Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement: A Guide for Officers and Their Families". I have been personally preaching this book for over two years now (when I first heard about it) and read it twice. We also reference this book during our Responder Talk group meetings. This conversation was an early Christmas gift. I personally believe this book should be part of the curriculum in every academy and read by LEO'S and their families all over the country. We spoke about the biological and psychological changes that Officers face when during and after their careers and touched on the ways Officers can improve their mindset and overall health. I am truly speechless and honored to have had this conversation with such a caring, intelligent, and determined retired Officer. Thank you Dr. Gilmartin for fighting the good fight and being a prime example of leadership! If you are young on the job or want to become a first responder, this is for you. If you are on the job this is for you. ========================================================================================================================================= "Dr. Gilmartin is a behavioral scientist specializing in law enforcement and public safety related issues.
