Building Resiliency in Children through Reading
Manage episode 300335723 series 2869737
In this episode we talk about books that promote resiliency in children of all ages. Through reading, children can learn tools and coping skills to help them bounce back after life's challenges. Kat Kan and Sam Gay from the Bay County Public Library curated our book list and join us on the podcast. We talk about many of the books on their list starting with picture books for young children and finish with inspiring stories for young adults. Ken Chisholm of Bay District Schools Student Wellness Program joins in the conversation too, sharing his insight and expertise on how the characters and stories on our list can help children reframe, break down problems, build confidence, find their strengths and create hope for the future.
