Manage episode 361843276 series 2945549
Highlights:
- Career promotion -- made her realize she had already achieved everything she wanted to outside the home, but it scared her thinking how much further it will take her away from her kids -- her top priority
- Career break -- after 20 years of chasing the corporate ladder, she took a career break and spent time with her family; they even moved back to the UK
- Transition period - the break and the transition period allowed them to live out their principle of "family first" and led to their discovery that their eldest was on the autism spectrum
- Career refocused - instead of focusing on her career, her husband took on the role and became the major provider for the family
- Newfound passion -- the diagnosis of their son led to a lot of struggles with the education system, paved the way to their homeschooling, and gave her another way of helping people through homeschooling especially during the pandemic
After giving up a dream career in order to prioritize her children, she experienced being at a loss for six months. But with the support of her husband, she was able to pick up herself and be great in what she has chosen to do -- as a hands-on mom and teacher of her own children. Not only that she was able to adjust to the needs of her son, but she has also extended her newfound passion to help other families who consider homeschooling. With this passion, she also found another lucrative venture while being virtual with her kids 100% of the time. Without a doubt, she believes she is now where she really needs to be.
