Our guest this week, Jacqueline Porter founded and directs The Dallas Conservatory, with 16 studios on three campuses and a faculty of three dozen top pros teaching Dance, Theater, Music, Voice, TV/Film and Fitness to 1,700 children and adults of every level from beginner to professional.
A classically trained former professional dancer/singer on Broadway and National Tour, Jacqueline has guest-taught and choreographed for over 30 schools and festivals from Beverly Hills to Tokyo including outreach in India, Bali, the Philippines and Morocco. Additionally, she possesses six years of corporate sales experience in luxury interior design, ten years of direct sales and marketing for arts organizations, three years of business writing, and three years designing highest-end arts travel.
Now in her 15th Anniversary Season with The Dallas Conservatory, Jacqueline is an 8 time consecutive winner of the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix “Outstanding School” award 2016-2023, and prior to that, she was a 2-time winner of the YAGP “Outstanding Teacher” award 2013 and 2015.
Jacqueline has personally trained (often from their first classical steps) a dozen students who are now professional dancers in America’s top ballet and modern companies including the New York City Ballet, Washington Ballet and Houston Ballet. Her students have gone on to win scholarships and admission to the world’s top schools and universities including Juilliard, USC, NYU, Royal Ballet School, Manhattan School of Music, and the schools of American Ballet Theatre and the San Francisco Ballet.
Jacqueline is an avid adventurer and theatre-goer and has to date traveled to 33 countries on 5 continents.
