Northeast Mississippi Community College President Dr. Ricky G. Ford sits down with Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Liz Calvery to discuss the upcoming mini conference that the college will be hosting on Monday, August 12. Ford talks about how notable events like the mini-conference are not only important to faculty but all employees who attend the one-day event. Ford lists off some of the highlights of the conference including some off-campus presenters for PERS and Mississippi Deferred Comp and some lectures that hold special interests like the changes to Title IX and the ever-popular "Food with the First Lady," where First Lady LuAnne Ford will talk about the formation of "Food with the First Lady," and what is in works for the program. During the one-day conference, Northeast will hold over 20 different sessions for employees to participate in. Ford also talks about how the mini-conference and employee development events play a significant role in increasing employee morale and helping employees connect and network with each other. To wrap up, Ford gives listeners the Northeast News and discusses athletics, academics, workforce, student activities, and human resources, along with many more important things happening at one of the nation’s top community colleges.
