Jessie Zapo has been called a lot of things in the realm of running: Originator, Innovator, and the First Lady of Running, to name a few. But, these nicknames and titles are not mere superlatives. Here's why: Jessie was one of the original members of the New York-based, urban running crew BridgeRunners; she is one of the founders of the "Bridge The Gap" movement; she cofounded another wildly successful urban running crew called Black Roses NYC; and currently, she leads yet another running crew she started called Girls Run NYC.
