In episode 67 of The Road to Wisdom Podcast Chloe & Keshia speak to Sarah Honey, Sarah has a Bachelor in Nutrition and Human Health Sciences and is a certified Fertility Awareness Practitioner from the FEMM Institute. Sarah has been educating and training in this field and we love how she shares this golden information with women. The goal of this chat was to explore the theme of NOT getting pregnant again. We discuss fertility awareness methods and the different phases of the menstrual cycle. We explore the infradian cycle, which governs the hormonal reproductive cycle in women, including ovulation and menstruation. Sarah explains the four phases of the cycle: follicular, ovulatory, luteal, and menstrual. We also discuss the signs and symptoms to look out for in each phase, such as changes in energy levels, cervical mucus, cervical placement, and libido. We touch on the challenges of tracking the cycle postpartum and provide recommendations for using biomarkers for fertility informed love making. In this conversation we also explore the effects of breastfeeding on ovulation and the importance of tracking cycles to understand hormonal shifts. Continuing with the loss of sexual desire postpartum and ways to reconnect with one's sexuality. Sarah provides insights into the practice of fertility awareness method and highlights the need for both partners to be involved in contraception decisions.
