Then, an estranged gay son who had been shunned and disowned by his Jehovah’s Witness father writes his own version of his dad’s obit in Milford, CT. Finally, actor Gedde Watanabe says he did not find his role in 16 Candles as Long Duk Dong offensive at the time. It was 40 years ago, and Watanabe said there were not a lot of roles for Asian actors. He continued that the role changed his life in a positive way.
