A decade ago, NC State University offered Chinmayee a scholarship, prompting her to take a leap of faith and journey from India to the United States.
With a diverse background in culture, education, and training, her passion for evidence-based research led her to explore the fascinating overlap of genetics, molecular biology, and nutrition in life science.
The research environment and mentorship she has received expanded her understanding and nurtured her critical thinking.
After obtaining her Ph.D. in Plant and Microbial Biotechnology, she pursued a postdoctoral experience at UNC-Chapel Hill's Gillings School of Global Public Health, specializing in nutrigenetics and clinical research.
As a young scientist, she is excited about the future and eager to contribute rigorous, evidence-based research to advance our understanding of nutrition and its effects on human health.
By combining the power of data with compelling stories, she believes we can create positive change and leave a lasting impact on individuals and communities.
