This week, I sat down with Adam Landry to discuss something I love: ice fishing. For the past three years, Adam and a team of volunteers and landowners have organized the MAYFC Kids Ice Fishing Derby. MAYFC is a youth football and cheering organization in the Massabesic/RSU 57 school district. Volunteers use this derby to raise money for equipment and uniforms, while giving back to the community with prizes for kids and adults, including trophies. In this podcast, we discuss how an idea evolved into one of Maine's fastest-growing kids' derbies. We also take a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make this event happen and highlight the need for volunteers and sponsors.
