When a family is in conflict, what does that say about the underlying patterns of how that family operates? What are the unspoken but clearly known family rules? What has been the inter-generational impact of trauma, addiction, or stress? Who holds the power in the family, and who rescues whom? Family Systems Theory offers the clinician a multitude of new insights into how the individual functions by gaining insight into the family system in which that individual dwells. Rhys and Josh visited with Mary Jane Wilt, a local Portland therapist who specializes in family systems. An introduction to Dr. Murray Bowen and Family Systems ensued. Many new things were learned. If you or a loved one is struggling with addictions or any other mental health challenges, please reach out to one of the professionals in this podcast, or to any other resource mentioned, or any resource you know. Help is there for you! Let us know what you think! Let's keep the conversation going! This episode features the following professionals: Rhys Pasimio - www.newpatterncounseling.com Joshua Moore - https://neurofeedbackcare.com/ Mary Jane Wilt - www.mjlpc.com The Master’s in Counseling program at Multnomah University, Alternative Behavioral Therapy and New Pattern Counseling present this podcast as a resource for aspiring and current professionals, as well as members of the greater community.
