For three years from 2020 to 2023, in long-term health facilities across western Pennsylvania, 41-year-old registered nurse Heather Pressdee administered excessive amounts of insulin to 22 of her patients trying to kill them. Of the 22 patients that Heather tried to murder she was successful in killing 17. She would later claim she was performing mercy killings to end her patients’ suffering. To avoid the death penalty, Heather plead guilty to three counts of first-degree murder as well as 19 counts of criminal attempt to commit murder. So, did Heather Pressdee commit mercy killings or murder because she liked the power and dominance in it?
