Today Jared hosts the show solo, discussing MMM's recent post about the California Effect and how quickly we can adapt to a lifestyle and call it "normal." Our ability to adjust can be positive or negative.
Is it "normal" to go out to lunch every day? Is it "normal" to ride your bike to work?
Is it "normal" to take out a $70,000 car loan for a new Ford F-250? Is it normal to do house renovations yourself?
Maybe you've fallen into a lifestyle by accident, and your "normal" is a bunch of mindless activities that don't bring you any value.
But here's the secret:
You can create a new normal.
Pack your lunch every day and soon enough it will become normal. Ride your bike to work long enough and it will become normal. Cook at home and invite your friends over for dinner and board games enough times and that will become normal.
The new activities in your life will start to feel normal to you, and they'll start to become normal to the people around you. You just need a little courage, and a little confidence.
