Gil Chan was a high-income tech employee who was looking to offset his w2 taxes. He found out about STRs and the loophole. He ended up really liking hosting. Gil and his wife now have three owned properties. He started getting into direct bookings and building a website for himself and ended up starting a company to make it easy for anyone to create a beautiful website in minutes with his platform.
