Parents of kids with Down syndrome talk to FIT about some misconceptions associated with the condition, and what new parents should know about caring for their kids with the condition. We also speak to Anita Menon, a model and an artist, who also happens to have Down syndrome.
Down Syndrome, a genetic condition, is often dismissed as a life-ending 'mental illness'. Parents are told to not 'expect much' from their kids, that they won't be able to do much, or live normal lives. But as Anita, and other kids with Down Syndrome prove, the reality is far from it.
