This week’s guests are married couple and sextech business partners Reuben and Sherri Johnson. Before the interview in the intro, Norma recounts what’s been going on in the last year in her life – global coalitions, going to the White House, and an update on what her first week has been like on OnlyFans. Then, Sherri and Reuben tell us about how they went from a life of being dedicated Jehovah’s Witnesses, to leaving the church and starting their own sexploration and becoming brand specialists obsessed with destigmatizing pleasure – and how they’ve navigated all of that as a married couple. They get into the idea of the gentrification of porn, and Norma, Reuben, and Sherri reflect on all of their own experiences unlearning religious shame around sexuality, and how purity culture permeates mainstream society. They talk about the things society tells us about ourselves – whether you’re a woman, Black, LGBTQ+, or so on – and how we can start to unlearn that, and how porn consumption can affect us positively or negatively. Then, Sherri and Reuben tell us about The Porn Conversation, a sex-ed project started by porn cinema director Erika Lust, for whom they’re ambassadors, and they share their perspectives on talking to kids about sex.
