There are 44.7 million Americans carrying a total of $1.71 trillion in student debt today. For many families, college feels impossible without a significant amount of debt, except for maybe superstar athletes or valedictorians who get scholarships. But many of the things we believe about the college application process are holding families back from attaining scholarship support for their student’s schooling. My guest today, Denise Thomas, is here to debunk many of the college scholarship myths and help students attain a debt-free college degree.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The timing of when to start thinking about college applications
  • How to tell the story of who your student is during the college application process
  • What colleges are looking for when they award scholarships
