In this special episode of Marketing Your Private Practice with Kathy C , we take a break from marketing strategies to spotlight an incredible cause - Big Brothers Big Sisters. As part of the worldwide Podcasthon https://podcasthon.org/ Kathy shares her personal experience as a Big Sister and talks with Bethany Porter, the mentoring and volunteer coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. Kathy opens up about what inspired her to join the program, how easy it was to get started, and the rewarding experience of mentoring a 9-year-old young girl in her community. Bethany provides some insight into the organization’s mission, the impact of mentorship, and how just a few hours a month can create lasting change in a child's life. They discuss the matching process, common misconceptions about the time and financial commitment , and a couple of success stories of matches - many of which turn into lifelong friendships. With 107 children currently on the waitlist in Halifax alone, the need for volunteers is urgent. Whether you're 19 or 90, there's a child who could benefit from your time and kindness if not here in Kathy’s city - then in your own city or town too! Your website should be working for you, not against you. If visitors aren’t booking consults, there’s a reason… and it’s usually messaging, SEO, or calls-to-action that aren’t doing their job. Things that are easy to fix! In this episode, I did a free marketing review with Cary Cuevas, a registered dietitian and nonprofit business owner, who was struggling to turn website visitors into clients. She built her site years ago and made a few updates, but something wasn’t clicking. During our review, I uncovered key website mistakes that were likely keeping people from taking action. These are common issues I see on private practice websites, and the good news is -- they’re all fixable! What you’ll learn in this episode: The messaging mistake that confuses visitors and stops them from booking Why using “near me” in SEO titles can hurt your rankings (and what to do instead) How weak calls-to-action cost you clients—and how to write CTAs that work One simple design fix that makes your website easier to read If your website isn’t bringing in the clients you want, you might be making the same mistakes. In this episode, I share the reason why, one day, I told a client that she should “Stop All of her Marketing... right Now!” It seems dramatic, but she was at a point where she was just throwing time and literal money out the door with her marketing because it was not working at all. In fact some of it was hurting her reputation too. We fixed the problem by going back to the basics and making sure she had 4 things in place that would ensure that her time and money invested into the marketing was worth it and that the marketing would work. Actually helping bring in new clients and grow the practice. Something I am sure you also want for your business or practice too -- clients and growth. Hit play to listen to this episode and learn: The 4 Pillars of Marketing a Practice or Service Business How each Pillar relies on the others to be more effective Why sometimes you should consider Stopping ALL Marketing NOW! Once my client and I established those 4 pillars in her marketing plans, things began working - a lot more than she imagined possible. Her list began to grow, and she started seeing more consults, and they were booking more clients. This episode provides valuable insights to help streamline your marketing and let you know if you, too, need to stop your marketing right now because it is hurting more than helping.
