The reality of every event, every trigger, is that you've created a story, a framework, surrounding this issue. And it's that story, not the actual facts, that are driving your anger. One you've recognized that you are triggered by a particular event or set of circumstances, and you've taken notice of your reaction, you can strip away the story and start seeing the reality which enables you to explore the possibility of a different reaction.
