Ser (To Be):

    • Él es un médico. (He is a doctor.)
    • María es simpática. (Maria is nice.)
  2. Time: Use "ser" to express the time of day, dates, and specific moments in time.
    • Es la una. (It is one o'clock.)
    • Hoy es miércoles. (Today is Wednesday.)
    • Fue un buen día. (It was a good day.)
  3. Possession: "Ser" is used to indicate possession or ownership when talking about inherent or permanent qualities.
    • El libro es mío. (The book is mine.)

Estar (To Be):

  1. Location: Use "estar" to indicate the location or position of someone or something.
    • Estoy en casa. (I am at home.)
    • El coche está en el garaje. (The car is in the garage.)
  2. Temporary States: "Estar" is used to describe temporary conditions, emotions, feelings, and physical states.
    • Estoy cansado. (I am tired.)
