I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada with Australian parents and started the sport of synchronized swimming at the age of eight. At the age of 18 I ‘retired’ focusing on university studies until the opportunity of joining the Australian National Synchronized Swimming Team fell into my lap. Not only was this an incredible opportunity and gamble, it was also a massive life change moving halfway across the world for a chance to go to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Not only did the massive gamble pay off, after I qualified for the 2016 Australian Olympic Team, I was also named as assistant captain for the team, placing 8th overall. I believe that there is a fighting spirit in all of us that desire to bring our dreams into fruition and having a passion for doing what you love can bring forward unbelievable opportunities.
What:
I am now a full time Uni student working towards finishing my degree in Internet Communications, however my true passion is helping and inspiring others. Although I am taking the synchro season off to finish my education I coach synchronized swimming to stay involved in the community. Additionally, I go into workplaces and schools whenever I can to share my journey and inspire others to pursue their ultimate passions. I am in the process of starting to write my auto-biography about my seemingly impossible journey to the Rio Olympic Games where I will delve more deeply into exactly how I went from being a concussed and unfit uni drop out in 2013 to a Rio 2016 Olympian merely three years later. Use this page and my linking social media accounts to keep updated with the next chapter of my life while I share my journey online through blogging while reflecting on what I did to get here.
Feel free to contact me if you would like me to come and speak at your workplace, school or upcoming event.
