After a chaotic month or so of transfer window gossip and debate, we took the opportunity to focus this episode on how the Brits abroad have been getting on for their clubs across the world in the last week or so. There are mixed fortunes as the likes of Chuba Akpom, Lloyd Kelly and Daniel Oyegoke make their debuts for their new teams, while Tammy Abraham bags a brace in the Coppa Italia against his current employers. There's a first goal for the surprise Saudi Pro League signing Brad Young - though his new club still haven't paid up for him! - and there's a new British face in the dugout for a lowkey international match in Montego Bay... The January transfer window shuts for the majority of major European leagues, and there are lots of late deals of players leaving to play abroad to catch you up on. Chuba Akpom has a new home in France, Lloyd Kelly makes a dream jump to Juventus, and Carney Chukwuemeka escapes his Chelsea hell with a loan move to Dortmund. We also spotlight some of the homecomings - Marcus Edwards to Burnley?! - and the moves that didn't transpire, not least a transfer fiasco involving Jordan Henderson, Ajax and Monaco. Plus, hope remains for free agent Ryan Kent and his reptile collection with a potential move to Iran, two young English coaches take on a massive challenge at the bottom of the Turkish Super Lig, and Steven Gerrard says goodbye to Al-Ettifaq after 18 months in charge. With less than a week to go until the January transfer window shuts, we get more players looking like they'll be heading abroad from the UK, or at least trying to! Hearts right back Daniel Oyegoke has got a dream move to Serie A, Leicester City are fighting off Bundesliga bids for their left back Luke Thomas, while Turkish giants Galatasaray join the long list of clubs trying to tempt Kyle Walker-Peters as his contract runs down at Southampton. Elsewhere, Ajax striker Chuba Akpom has potential offers from Ligue 1, Marcus Rashford's hope of a European loan dwindles, and we pray Crawley Town don't prevent their winger Junior Quitirna from the move of a lifetime... Plus, on-pitch updates from the Brits across Europe including a Che Adams in Serie A, a rare but impressive Eric Dier start for Bayern and Max Aarons thrown to the wolves for his Valencia debut. It's a massive week of updates for moves abroad in this increasingly surprising January transfer window. Kyle Walker seems to have landed on his feet with Milan, and Marcus Rashford's next destination is still up in the air, but Dele Alli has found an incredible new home in Como after signing an 18-month deal with Cesc Fabregas' side. Elsewhere, Newcastle United reject multiple overseas bids for Lloyd Kelly, Motherwell turn down an Italian bid for their star teenager Lennon Miller, while a Welsh duo at Rangers look to be heading overseas. Plus, Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling is already attracting interest from the Bundesliga... There's also on-pitch news from the British contingent in the Coupe de France, Bundesliga and Serie A. After a catch up of on-pitch action from our boys abroad over the last week, including a lively post-break Bundesliga curtain raiser, we jump into more updates of confirmed moves, reports and gossip from the transfer window. Borussia Dortmund's shopping list is full of English talent, including Marcus Rashford, who must convince his many potential loan spell suitors to stare down Manchester United over his wages. On the blue side of 0161, Kyle Walker has asked Pep Guardiola to leave Man City in order to explore opportunities to play abroad. Meanwhile, plenty plenty more including Andre Gray heading to the Turkish second tier, and possibly being joined there by Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland... We'd love to hear your thoughts! @intlclearance intlclearance@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

The madness of the January transfer window is well and truly here, and there are all sorts of reports and rumours linking British players away from the UK. Liverpool have rejected a Real Madrid bid for Trent Alexander-Arnold, AC Milan declare their interest in a loan for Marcus Rashford, and pod favourite Mika Biereth looks like he has a big European move already. Plus, we get bossy as a Santos bid for Sheffield Wednesday's Josh Windass has our heads on Jupiter... We also salute Jude Bellingham on another 'I'm Him' performance for Real Madrid in Valencia, and the several British born or raised players on Diaspora Duty for South East Asian nations in the ASEAN Championship over the last month, including East Timor internationals from Reading and Dungannon! Happy New Year! The January transfer window is here so we discuss some of the reports of Brits potentially moving overseas this month. This includes a MLS rescue offer for Wilfried Zaha, Juventus hoping to snag Fikayo Tomori and James McAtee attracting tons of interest. Plus, we try to work out where abroad Marcus Rashford can find himself at the end of this window. Meanwhile, there's a familiar surname picked in the MLS Superdraft, Yannick Bolasie extends his Brazilian adventure and Hamza Choudhury officially joins our diaspora duty contingent by declaring for Bangladesh! Plus, Chris Coleman keeps his 100% start at OH Leuven, and there's a potential footballing lifeline for Dele Alli in Como. Get in touch @intlclearance Hosted on Acast. We are delighted to be joined this week by Lee Wingate & Paul Watson of The Sweeper - A World Football Podcast. The hosts share tales of their personal interests in football overseas, including Lee's following of Austrian football and Paul's time in Pohnpei. Before our chat, there's the normal discussion of some British goalscorers abroad in the last week, as well as a new management job for John Carver, and a pondering of what's next for Yannick Bolasie after his Criciúma side are relegated from the Brazilian top flight. Joining us on the show this week is East Londoner Marvin Hamilton, who after starting out at Gillingham had a sterling non-league career in the South of England. You know this pod though! We wanted to hear all about his playing spells in the top flight of Cyprus and the Victorian Premier League in Australia, plus his adventures on Diaspora Duty with Sri Lanka, and a recent promotion while coaching in Zimbabwean club football... There's also a bitesize version of the usual updates on British players abroad - have you seen the Jamie Bynoe-Gittens goal against Bayern yet?! - while you tell us the Italian clubs you wish you could play for. We get to close a couple cases this week, as the mysteries around Michail Antonio and Jason Puncheon from the last episode are solved. Club football returned and Harry Kane became the fastest player to 50 Bundesliga goals with his hat-trick against Augsburg. His third goal was excellent... but did he mean it? Elsewhere, Steven Gerrard has brought another old friend to Al-Ettiffaq, while Gareth Southgate's former England assistant may have bagged a new job in Japan. Plus, we discuss the future of Marcus Edwards at Sporting after making his first start of the season. What's your dream Italian club to play for? Let us know @intlclearance Hosted on Acast. The last week has seen plenty of British-born footballers on diaspora duty for international sides outside the UK, although only a few got what they were hoping for out of it. Those in action for Gambia and Sierra Leone saw their AFCON hopes evaporate, while Jamaica lost in their Nations League Quarter Final after a series of bad luck from the UK diaspora including a missed penalty, a red card and - perhaps most infuriatingly of all - a lost passport. A changing of the guard down the bottom end of UEFA sees Gibraltar and Malta head to play-offs, while in club football the most fun managerial appointment of recent weeks has already gone belly up. We begin with a club round-up, with the latest on British-born or raised players and coaches in MLS play-offs, and an East London duo leading a Zimbabwean side to promotion. Plus, Jude Bellingham finally gets off the mark this season, while the fun times continue for Gent pair Archie Brown and Max Dean. Then we head to Diaspora Duty ahead of the international break: there are British-born players called up for the first time to Antigua, Guyana and Jamaica, including Newcastle Unitesd's Isaac Hayden. In Africa, the AFCON qualification reaches its climax, with plenty of our contingent looking to help their family countries reach a major tournament. Finally, we were contacted by scouts for the Fijian FA... more in the pod! You too can get in touch @intlclearance Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

We return after a fortnight away with some intriguing managerial reports, including trouble for Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq and a surprise Serie A link for Frank Lampard. Plus, one of the great managerial gigs secured in Cyprus by former Premier League winger Jason Puncheon. Around the world, there are summer leagues coming to an end, so we report on the great form of a couple Scots in the MLS play-offs, and an overdue update on Jesse Lingard in the K-League. In Italian football, we celebrate the return of Lewis Ferguson after his long lay-off. Get in touch! @intlclearance Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Club football has returned and with it big contributions from our British contingent overseas, including a Harry Kane hat-trick, yet another Andy Carroll goal and a great few days from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens for Dortmund.
