I want to talk to you about a quote from Brian Baumler:
"Stop focusing on the things that can make you money and start focusing on the things that could lose you money."
The part I like most about this quote is the shift in focus.
When you start focusing on the things that can lose you money, you’re essentially working to stop the cash bleed.
You need a steady cash flow first – income that covers your expenses and makes you profit.
Once you have this steady foundation, then you can start considering the elements that will make you money.
As entrepreneurs, we see endless opportunities all around us.
The problem is, chasing too many opportunities can actually cause you to start losing money because of the distraction and resources it consumes.
I call it shiny object syndrome. ✨
Write down those ideas for later, but don’t let them derail you from maintaining a solid financial base.
You need proper systems in place to address those ideas in an orderly fashion.So, stop focusing on the things that can make you money and start focusing on the things that can lose you money.
