To save our forests we need to manage them or they are going to burn to the ground! That was the main thing I learned in this interview. In order to restore our forest we need to selectively log, thin and "prescribed" burn them. No logging is without its challenges. Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Company are in the top tier of sustainable practices in the world as far as lumber companies go. They are not perfect but are on the right path.
