A native of Orange County, California, Kevin Koby loves two things: chemistry and cannabis. He’s managed to combine both so far in his life. He graduated from UCSB while working as a chemical synthesis researcher and in technology patenting. After college, he became a part of the team that discovered and scaled up solvent-free cannabinoid distillate. Riding that success, Koby built a lab and produced over 20 terpene profiles, several of which won Cannabis Cups. He’s scaled clear production, developed new products, and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Abstrax Tech, a terpene formulation and refinement lab. Concurrently, he is the CSO of Abstrax Labs, a chain of volatile solvent cannabis manufacturing labs.
