In the rather concerning landscape of the current Nigerian economy, and in spite of COVID-19(or perhaps because of), one segment of the economy seems to be doing exceptionally well - Fintech.

The numbers are head turning -Flutterwave valued at $1 billion (that is $200 million more than the highest value bank in Nigeria); Paga and Andela now with a $1.5 billion valuation. Is Fintech the new oil? Bigger than oil?

Victor Ndukauba, expert investor and the Deputy Managing Director of Afrinvest, has his finger on the Fintech pulse. We discuss how to get in on the ground floor and finding those unicorns.

This episode might just be all the intro you need into this brave new investment world.

We also talk about:

  • Fintech: The Next Big Thing?
  • How best to invest
  • The Nigeria tech talent pool
  • Investing in startups
  • The venture capitalist’s risk trick for startups
  • Trust issues with investing in tech
  • Fintech innovation vs CBN regulation
  • What are NFTs?
  • What makes Victor tick?
