“A frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean.” Japanese Proverb

Our ability to dream, to achieve, to create, to relate, to connect, is often limited by our limited perspectives.

One of my best friends from high school has gone on to do really well in life. I say that he has done well in life not being of his economic or social status. He already had those. I say that he has done well in life because the life he dreamed of in high school is the life he is living today.

He had lived in various places growing up and really loved London. He had an interest in being a fund manager. He wanted a family. Fast forward several decades. He is happily married with children, lives in London, and does research for a major fund.

I wonder how many more of my friends could have achieved their ideal lives if they had been able to imagine it?

Near the beginning of Abraham’s story in Genesis, God tells Abraham to go and walk the land and look in every direction as far as he could see.

One of our first steps to achieving anything is to get a larger perspective.

I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
