Hello podcast nation and welcome back to another episode of the Trauma that Binds Series, a segment of Living Vicariously. Today we have the privilege of having Valerie Rubin with us. With a BA in psychology and licensed Rapid Transformational Therapist, Valerie has helped dozens overcome their traumas.
" We are all human and struggle with so many different things.
Fight: Anger Response
Flight: Anxiety or OCD like response
Freeze: Depression symptoms, feeling really sad
Fawn: People pleasing, codependent
We start to merge with these thoughts and believe them as truth.
A lot of my clients struggle with people pleasing, codependency, seeking validation or self abandoning.
I'm a huge proponent of exercise, eating in a way that nourishes the body, and surrounding yourself with the right people.
WE CAN'T CHANGE THROUGH SHAME, WE CAN ONLY CHANGE THROUGH LOVE."
- Valerie Rubin
"You have to let go so it doesn't hurt you anymore, right?" - T. Douglas
