Work Till You Die, But We Still Need You To Work!
Manage episode 357876408 series 3432925
I have a dream. These are words that when uttered, make people’s hair stand on the back of their necks and put their focus on what is coming next. Martin Luther King had a dream of a better world. A fair world that gives everyone an opportunity to be what they want as long as they work hard for it. He worked hard for the freedom of speech and Black people’s rights to be equal, but look what happened to a man who stood up to the system. Every individual on the face of this earth has the right to have a say in or work hard to live a good life. We have become a system of silent dictatorship. “You can do what you want, say what you want, as long as it is not this, this, that, this, these and especially those.” I was taught to work hard to earn the right of living a good life, but the more I work hard the more I am shown that I cannot keep up with the dream many have fought so hard for us to have.
In this episode of Do You Know What Blows My Foghorn, I use whatever freedom of speech I have to talk about modern slavery: us. When I say us I do not mean, brown, blacks, yellow, or beige. I mean us as a human race. Do you really think working hard is paying off?
