Hollywood actor, Demarcus Bumpers, provides insight into the world of entertainment and his thoughts on his family's business of Death Row Records.
Learning from the iconic founders of Death Row Records, Michael "Harry O" Harris and Lydia Harris, Bumpers is fast rising in the movie and television business. He states "their teaching is what helped me navigate through the business" and praises Lydia Harris. Bumpers says, "she would give me every tool that I would need in the business in order to be successful."
Proud of his family's accomplishment in the entertainment business, Bumpers gives us insight into one of the most infamous record labels in the history of the music business. The label that is known for a classic catalog that consists of iconic hip hop artists such as Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre, has another behind the scenes story which Bumpers reveals. We also learn that Harry O helped the legendary Denzel Washington at the beginning of his career with running a play that gave the actor a platform for his skills.
His views on why Billboard's Top 50 Rappers Ever list was a bit misguided and reveals that he is also a family member connected to the rap billionaire Jay-Z and his extraordinary wife Beyonce.
He describes how he started in the acting world and his story is similar to how Tupac got his role in the cult classic film Juice. In regards to Tupac and his his acting, Bumpers believes "he was a legend on the screen." The Hollywood actor also states being "impressed" by 50 Cent and the work he has done with his Power universe.
Bumpers is also a co-star in the movie Rise with Makaela Bryant and he goes into detail how the process and experience was with that project. The actor is also busy with current projects that includes a role on the next Jason Voorhies film.
Revealing that he would still want to work with Will Smith after the controversial Oscar slap to Chris Rock, his aim is to become to be the first African American male Houstonian to win an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award for his acting. He’s also determined to earn his Doctoral Degree and become a successful entrepreneur, like his parents before him.
