Show Notes Episode 468: There’s A Light Over at the LaLaurie Place
Spooktacular 2024 Finale
This week Host Dave Bledsoe drunkenly declares that every day is Mardi Gras while offering strings of beads in exchange for being shown breasts. (The bouncers took the beads, and took Dave’s shirt off while tossing him out.) On the show this week we conclude Spooktacular 2024 with the story of the most haunted house in the most haunted city in America: The LaLaurie Mansion.
Along the way we learn that while Dave once attended Mardi Gras in New Orleans he can't really tell you anything about it. (Because he was black out drunk.) Then we dive right into a brief history of New Orleans from the first native Americans to all the times it changed hands before being purchased by Thomas Jefferson for some Mardi Gras beads and the recipe for the Hurricane. (Allegedly). Then we dig into the story of Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie. (This is NOT a happy story) and life in her New Orleans mansion. (Seriously, there is a lot of brutal shit in this story, so you WERE warned.) Finally, there is some stuff about ghosts.
Our Sponsor this week is the Committee Representing American Paranormal Persons, shining a light on the unseen! We open with breathless discussion of the mansion and close with Chloé Lexia Worthington shining a light on things.
