These days everyone and their pet cat want to be popular on the internet. AND entrepreneurs are desperately trying to get the leg up with social marketing, they want to build their audiences because they believe that THAT is what will make them a success. The gurus are also partially guilty because they have been misleading people for years saying "just add value" - making some people believe that if they build it they will come. So really?
