The Murder of Colleen Slemmer
Manage episode 459213363 series 3619658
The Job Corps program is supposed to be a resource to aid in troubled youths building work experience and readiness. There are several Job Corps locations throughout the country, including the one in Knoxville, TN. However, this location is most known for the brutal attack and murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer.
Colleen Slemmer was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1975. She moved to and grew up in Orange Park, FL. Colleen was attending the Job Corps program to obtain skills, abilities, and a prominent future. However, Colleen's life would tragically be cut short by a brutal attack from three of her peers in the program.
This would ultimately lead to the youngest woman to be sentenced to death in US history.
