Perfect Love Drives out Fear (1 John 4:16-5:5)
Abiding in the love of God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives the Believer holy boldness to walk in faith.
When we abide in the love of God, our hunger for His Word grows. As our knowledge of God grows our faith grows. The closer we are to God, the more we receive revelation from Him, the more our faith increases. John 15; Romans 10:17
In this direct relationship and fellowship with Jesus, we find God’s love being completed and perfected in us. This is an everlasting relationship. 2 Peter 1:1-11
God’s perfect love gives every born-again Believer confidence to face God (our Judge) in the future day of judgment because Jesus’ atonement, the Judge sees our righteousness the same as He sees Jesus’ righteousness. Hebrews 9:24-28
As we mature in Christ, the fear fades because of His love. Perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear. Philippians 3:8-16
Fear involves the expectation of divine punishment, so the one who is afraid of God’s judgment is not perfected in love and has not fully grown into a sufficient understanding of His love.
We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and works against his Christian brother is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he can see, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. Loving the Faith Family is not just a spiritual suggestion, it is a spiritual command.
Father God commands His followers to obey and practice love for Him and also unselfishly love his brother and seek the best for him. Obedience reflects love.
Believing and confessing with a real trust in the fact that Jesus is the Christ, and that God has raised Him from the dead, makes one born of God. Romans 10:9-13
True love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. With the Holy Spirit’s leading, God’s commandments and His precepts are not difficult to obey.
Amid the storms of life in a dark and fallen world, we are overcomers in Christ!
