Welcome to Episode 2 of Ti20 Game Balls, a GoTigers247 audio podcast where GT247 hands out game balls to athletes that performed well on the field in the previous week's game.

Memphis, coming of a season opening loss to Mississippi State, traveled to Annapolis, Maryland to play Navy in their AAC conference opener. Memphis played a substantially better game on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Seth Henigan led the Tigers with 415 yards and 1 touchdown on 24-34 passing. Quindell Johnson was a stud on defense, finishing the game with 13 tackles, 11 of them solo, with 1 gigantic interception.

Seth Henigan and Quindell Johnson are the recipients of Week 2 GoTigers247's game balls.

In the first segment, defensive back Quindell Johnson joins GoTigers247 to accept his game ball. He shares his thoughts on the week that the city of Memphis has been through, and how he felt a burden and responsibility to help Memphis have a bright spot over the weekend with the Tigers' football game. Memphis has become a second home to Quindell and he loves the fan support that he feels from the home fans every Saturday. Quindell shares his experience of going to Annapolis and playing the Naval Academy. He appreciates the cadets that play football and go to school there because of the added responsibility they have of training to protect our country overseas. Quindell loves playing against Navy because he knows that they deserve respect because of how tough the team plays every game.

Quindell talks about the interception he had in the first half. Quindell had seen this play on film during the weeks prior and he knew that when the running back got the ball, he wasn't planning on running the ball. He broke hard to the receiver running down the field, and made an incredible play intercepting the ball in the endzone. Quindell discusses how he uses his instincts to make plays like this. Former DC Coach McIntyre used to say "knowledge equals confidence equals playing fast." He plays with a confidence that allows him to trust his instincts and play quickly. He wants the defense to fight against complacency and continue to strive to be their best as they start off a four game home stretch.

In the second segment, QB1 Seth Henigan joined GoTigers247. Seth shares how he felt the Tigers' offense really gelled well during the Navy game and was successful with their game plan. After a frustrating loss against Mississippi State, he was proud of how the receivers made substantial improvements from week one to week 2. Seth graded his game as pretty decent. He bemoaned the fact that he missed several throws and reads to receivers, but expressed excitement that they were able to meet their stated goal of 8 "X Plays", which are plays that go 20+ yards. Seth stated that he never lost faith in his receiving corp after the first game against Mississippi State. He knows the work the receivers put in during practice and believes that the growth from Game 1 will continue to increase from week to week.
