Erika Ly operates at the nexus of law, technology and society. Her work focuses on the design and regulation of artificial intelligence and she is passionate about interdisciplinary innovation. Her current positions include being Secretary of the Australian Society for Computers and the Law and a Director at The Legal Forecast. Prior to this, Erika started her career as a 'Technolegal' at Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian commercial law firm and worked at one of Australia's first legal technology startups, LawPath. In this episode we discuss what the future may hold, the theme of responsible AI and 'ethical AI' and some of Erika's latest work. We address The Legal Forecast, which is an Australian not-for-profit community of law students and lawyers passionate about legal innovation. Erika also explains her recent participation at the inaugural Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society Summer Institute, where the team's focus was indigenous people's interaction with the digital world.
