[THIS EPISODE IS IN FRENCH]
There is a day when we were born. From that day, we became a record, a record that produces. The world is an archives collection; items that are important now and maybe important tomorrow.
Look at our country, for example, we don’t value things with historic significance. But we end up paying the price of that negligence – financially and historically.
It has to end, we need to win the war on archives preservation. We need to be able to find the right information, at the right time, to take the right decision.
Our guest today is Mr Essaia TCHINSABE. An archivist from the MINEPIA with 10 years of working experience with Ministeries and private institutions curb the ignorance about archives. To build the right environment for documents and to save them for the future generation. We can learn a lot from him.
Hence, in this episode we:
- we sought to understand the problem of archives in its entirety,
- looked at how archives saved Cameroon during the Bakassi peninsula conflict,
- How administrations can start working on them if we haven’t already,
- The problem that archives generate when well preserved,
- The Right to be forgotten
- Finally, why everyone should be an Archivist.
As always, if you have something to say, Silence is a lie.
Leslie Micheal Ace is my name.
