Joker (2019), directed by Todd Phillips, is a psychological thriller that follows Arthur Fleck, a troubled and marginalized comedian in Gotham City, as he spirals into madness and eventually transforms into the notorious villain, the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix stars as Arthur Fleck, alongside Robert De Niro as Murray Franklin.
